£599including VAT for a standard installation (£499.17 plus VAT). Installation only: you supply or choose the charger.
  • No travel charge on the Island
  • 2 year workmanship guarantee
  • Revised price before any work starts

What it is

A home EV charger is a wall mounted charging point on its own circuit from your consumer unit, so you can charge at home safely and faster than from a three pin plug.

Our standard installation is installation only, so you supply or choose the charger.

There is a government grant towards a chargepoint for some renters, landlords, flat owners and businesses. Check the EV chargepoint grant

When you need it

  • You have bought or ordered an electric car
  • You are charging from a three pin socket and want something better
  • You have moved home and need a charger at the new address
  • You let a property and want to offer charging to tenants

What's included

The standard installation is £599 including VAT. Installation only: you supply or choose the charger.

  • Up to 5 metres of cable fixed to the outside wall
  • One hole through the wall
  • Connection to a spare way in your existing consumer unit (fuse box)
  • Testing and an Electrical Installation Certificate
  • Notifying SSEN, which runs the power lines and substations on the Island

What costs extra

Anything beyond the standard installation is priced as an extra when you get your price online, and listed on your estimate before you accept. The most common extras are:

  • More than 5 metres of cable, or cable run inside the house
  • More than one hole through a wall
  • No spare way in your consumer unit, or a consumer unit that needs upgrading first
  • A shared (looped) supply or a small main fuse, where SSEN may need to check the load before the charger goes in
  • A charger away from the house, such as on a post, or any digging or groundwork

Your certificate

You receive an Electrical Installation Certificate. A new circuit is notifiable under Part P, so the work is registered through the NICEIC scheme, and we notify SSEN after installation.

Can it be priced online?

Yes. The standard installation is £599 including VAT. We ask for photos of your parking space, the wall where the charger will go, the route from the consumer unit to that wall, the consumer unit itself and your meter, and anything beyond the standard installation is priced as an extra.

No surprises

If anything differs from your description, you get a revised price before any work starts, and if you decide not to go ahead we refund your deposit in full.

EV chargers: questions

What does the £599 include?

Up to 5 metres of cable fixed to the outside wall, one hole through the wall, connection to a spare way in your existing consumer unit, testing and certification, and the SSEN notification. It is installation only, so you supply or choose the charger.

Can I supply my own charger?

Yes. The standard installation is installation only, so you supply or choose the charger. Tell us which one in the questions.

Do you need permission from SSEN?

Most home chargers are notified to SSEN after installation, which we do for you. Where the supply is shared with a neighbour or the main fuse is small, SSEN may need to check the load first, and your estimate will say if that applies.

Is there a grant?

There is a government grant for some renters, landlords, flat owners and businesses. Our grants page has the details, and we confirm eligibility for your job.
